The institutionalization of ecological civilization construction (IECC) is a process that grounds in people’s ideas and actions; it promotes the combination concepts, systems, actions, effects an institutionalized way, higher quality, greater efficiency, improved equity construction. In accordance with logic operation, we construct measurement index system to evaluate IECC level China from 2012 2022. results show during study period, exhibited rising trend, institutional design efficiency improving rapidly. was unbalanced, showing spatial distribution trend being east, lower west, coastal areas than inland areas; additionally, absolute gap between regions gradually widened. government’s anticorruption efforts, degree market openness, public participation, improvement educational quality had significant positive impact on IECC.
