Life cycle assessment (LCA) is a tool to analyze the environmental impact of process production or services. Forest provides enormous benefits through ecosystem services, but some forest management activities (nursery, thinning, pruning, pest control, and harvesting) have produced negative impacts, such as pollution from machine utilization, fertilizer pesticide, water consumption. Furthermore, this paper describes application LCA in forestry sector Indonesia. We used Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews Meta-analysis (PRISMA) approach identify, screen, inclusion relevant articles. Identified 35 articles related life Indonesia's sector, only 11 were eligible content analysis. The findings shown that research trend on Indonesia started 2009, since 2015 number publications has been relatively constant. functional unit varied (mass, energy, time, area size). system boundary also cradle gate, gate grave. impacts found global warming potential, acidification, eutrophication parameters. In conclusion, applied Indonesia’s sectors (roundwood production, furniture industries, biomass wood pellet production). propose future direction specific site operation, seedling maintenance, harvesting activities. recommend more scope elaborate private non-timber product processes.

Early adversity experiences have been linked to poor mental health outcomes in both adolescence and adulthood. This study investigates the interplay of family social environment (FSE) with emotional regulation, health, stress-sensitive brain structures, as well development these structures during young A total 737 adults (mean age = 19.5 years) participated study, a subset 503 individuals undergoing two MRI scans approximately 1.5 years apart. Structural equation modeling self-reported data revealed significant mediating effect maladaptive emotion regulation on relationship between conflictive FSE depressive symptoms, particularly females. Neuroimaging results indicated that an increased left-to-right hippocampal volume ratio was associated more males, but not These findings underscore importance considering sex differences when discussing effects neurological outcomes.

The link between subjective well-being (SWB) and forest visits is increasingly driving the development preservation of restorative environments in numerous countries. However, there limited knowledge regarding effect people's preferences for patterns activities on this connection. Here we investigated whether associations exist certain features activities, SWB increase stress reduction response to visits. A nationwide digital survey was administered a representative sample Slovak population. recollection-based data obtained from one thousand respondents were analysed through agglomerative clustering ordinal regression. analyses revealed that improved associated with uneven-aged forests, smell, as well recreational, but not provisioning activities. respective interrelationships explained up 20% after results suggest study findings can be generalized real-world forests management contribute visitors by shaping diversity woodlands their sensory experiences.

Understanding the effects of environment on mental health older adults is crucial in an aging society. Previous research concerning restorative benefits forests almost entirely omitted as primary target group and typically involved forest visits, which were largely restricted during COVID-19 pandemic. Here we investigated individual walks aged 60 years or ( N = 54). A randomized parallel intervention study was conducted with one walking other built-up city centres. Each participant completed eight 40-min 1 month. Significant improvements cognitive flexibility heart rate variability (HRV) autonomic nervous system functioning indicator established forest-walking group. The relationship between HRV modulated by ambient temperature. shows that access to crises can support a vulnerable demographic.

Abstract To advance the theoretical and practical underpinnings for nature therapies, i.e. exposure as a means to improve mental health, we compared most memorable sensory experiences reported by forest tourists in Australia, Chile, China Japan. Sensory are fundamental driver of psychological effects exposure. We first reviewed relevant research from each country language. then conducted 100 on‐site interviews >500 China, compiled 1000 social media posts analysed these datasets using directed‐content qualitative thematic analyses, both original languages translated texts, outcomes country. The key universal: sights plant shapes colours; sounds birdsong, running water rustling leaves; smells flowers, trees, earth; taste temperature clean air water; touch bark rocks. Participants gave detailed descriptions each. These fine‐grained but widespread our principal finding. at scale that is broad enough apply prescriptible therapies any forested region, fine be used future quantitative test therapeutic designs, doses durations. This distinguishes them prior research, either too or therapy design. Future aiming maximise health benefits may not need distinguish different countries cultures, differentiate more finely precisely than therapy‐related date. Urban trees and green spaces, hereafter, urban forests, are known to contribute human health wellbeing. However, research has predominantly focused on warm seasons. To understand whether these benefits extend winter months, when vegetation is dormant, we conducted a narrative review of the outcomes associated with forests in cities cold climates. We synthesized findings from 21 studies originating Asia, Europe North America. The most studied were mental health, physical activity physiological relaxation, all showing positive relationship forest exposure. These finding appear similar those observed warmer more needed, diversity outcomes, draw robust conclusions this emerging field. Future should therefore consider effect seasonality improve wellbeing dwellers
