Students face unique challenges in terms of stress and Virtual Reality Technology (VRT) is emerging as a novel method for managing it. It has immersive engaging nature that makes it potentially more effective management tool. ABSTRACT Stress and psychological disorders are substantial public health concerns, necessitating innovative therapeutic strategies. This study investigated the psychophysiological benefits of nature‐based soundscapes, drawing on biophilia hypothesis. Using a randomized, acute cross‐over design, 53 healthy participants experienced either or reference soundscape for 10 min, with 2‐min washout period. The integrated nature sounds elements music to create an immersive experience. A calm coffee shop without discernible speech was selected as represent typical urban relaxation environment. Heart rate variability (HRV) primary outcome, exploratory outcomes including heart respiratory rates, questionnaires assessing affective well‐being, creativity, belonging. Results showed that significantly improved HRV reduced indicating enhanced parasympathetic activity. Participants reported lower feelings anxiety depression increased comfort, enthusiasm, highlights multifaceted suggesting they could serve easily accessible options promoting immediate recovery reducing daily stress in individuals.

Virtual Reality Therapeutic Art for Adult Hospitalized Patients and Caregivers: A Mixed-Methods Project DOI Creative Commons

Increased stress, anxiety, and depression hinder recovery of hospitalized patients. Mindfulness therapies, which adopt a holistic approach to patient care, reduce depression. This quality improvement initiative evaluated the implementation virtual reality (VR) therapeutic art program at Stanford Health Care from February June 2024, providing an innovative scalable adjunct traditional music mindfulness therapies. mixed methods project piloted 84 cumulative hours with 105 participants. Outcomes investigated satisfaction impact on hospitalization experience via survey questions. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics thematic analysis. Results (n = 40) indicated substantial improvements in experience, 85% recommending 97.5% reporting positive impacts VR engagement. Thematic analysis open-ended responses identified 4 key themes: escape distraction, benefits, enjoyment interactive activity, facilitator interactions. Participants also expressed interest additional offerings, including mindfulness, meditation. The results suggest that can serve as effective conventional therapies improve inpatient experience.
