Jujing Zhuyu decoction (JZD) is a traditional Chinese medicine that effectively improves sperm motility. However, the molecular mechanism of JZD on asthenozoospermia still remains unknown. In this study, we investigated effect mitochondrial apoptosis pathway in an rat model. Sixty Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups-control, tripterygium glycosides (GTW) model, JZD-low (JZD-L), JZD-medium (JZD-M), and JZD-high (JZD-H) groups (n = 12/group). GTW was used to generate The JZD-L, JZD-M, JZD-H administered 5, 10, or 15 g kg-1 day-1 granules respectively, for 4 weeks. Testicular tissue morphology examined using histological staining, while count determined manual computer-aided semen analyses. Wuzi Yanzong Prescription (WYP) has long been used to treat male infertility, with convincing clinical evidence. However, its mechanism of action is not clear.WYP chemical components were quantified by HPLC, and the effect on oligoasthenozoospermia rats was explored based UPLC-Q-TOF-MS metabonomics technology.The solution extracted alcohol water; content eight in extracting determined HPLC. Twenty-four Sprague-Dawley randomly divided into control (CG), model (MG) administration (PG) groups. Oligoasthenozoospermia induced for 30 days all, but CG daily oral doses 20 mg/kg Tripterysium glycosides (TG). PG given WYP (1.08 g/kg), MG received same volume distilled water, all administered days.
