Ziziphus lotus (L.) Lam. (Rhamnaceae) is a plant species found across the Mediterranean area. This comprehensive overview aims to summarize botanical description and ethnobotanical uses of Z. its phytochemical compounds derived with recent updates on pharmacological toxicological properties. The data were collected from electronic databases including Web Science, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Scopus, SpringerLink, Google Scholars. It can be seen literature that traditionally used treat prevent several diseases diabetes, digestive problems, urinary tract infectious diseases, cardiovascular disorders, neurological dermal problems. extracts demonstrated properties in vitro vivo such as antidiabetic, anticancer, anti-oxidant, antimicrobials, anti-inflammatory, immunomodulatory, analgesic, anti-proliferative, anti-spasmodic, hepatoprotective, nephroprotective effects. characterization revealed presence over 181 bioactive terpenoids, polyphenols, flavonoids, alkaloids, fatty acids. Toxicity studies showed this are safe free toxicity. Thus, further research needed establish possible relationship between traditional uses, chemistry, Furthermore, quite promising medicinal agent, so clinical trials should conducted prove efficacy.

The curative effects of Solanum elaeagnifolium have aroused the interest botanical medicine researchers. However, no research has been carried out into its potential toxicity. aim this study was firstly to screen secondary metabolites contained in leaves and fruits S. their mineralogical composition, secondly assess acute oral toxicity Swiss albino mice. amount minerals plant powder assessed by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, phytochemical screening performed. hydroethanolic extracts were prepared using maceration method. Acute according OECD guideline 423. Mice given leaf (SEFE) fruit (SEFR) once at doses 500 mg/kg, 1000 mg/kg 2000 an study. animals then monitored for 14 days. To rule any toxicity, general behavior animals, clinical symptoms poisoning, body weight, biochemical hematological markers, liver, kidney, spleen histology examined. two different comprised very important elements such as Mg, Zn, k, well polyphenols flavonoids, these chemical shown biological activities. An administration a extract dose resulted death We found significant difference weight For less than markers kidneys, hematology did not differ significantly from those control group. Furthermore, there changes markers. architecture spleen, kidney normal histopathological analysis reveal adverse effects. These findings indicate that harbors array minerals. exhibited signs induced histological, hematological, alterations weight. comprehensive studies will help improve our understanding elaeagnifolium's safety utility, laying groundwork safe use variety settings.

Abstract Background Traditional knowledge associated with medicinal food plants (MFPs) plays a vital role in fighting hidden hunger and safeguarding the health of local people. MFPs resources are abundant Gaoligongshan area, biosphere reserve richest biocultural diversity China. Local people different linguistic groups also have rich traditional botanical knowledge. However, there still few comprehensive systematic studies on there. Methods Ethnobotanical investigation including market survey, semi-structured interviews, free listing key informant interviews was conducted Western Yunnan, Southwest A total 13 farmers’ markets were selected information about plants, categories, edible parts, modes consumption, effects, distribution collected. The relative occurrence frequency (RFO) cultural significance index (CFSI) calculated to identify culturally significant MFPs. Results 184 species MFPs, belonging 83 families, collected vegetables (77), diets (26), fruits (25), spices (18), herbal tea (13), substitutes (11), for staple (8), nuts (5), oils fats (4), dye material (1). most frequently used families Fabaceae, Asteraceae Apiaceae, 11, 10, 9 species, respectively. plant parts stems, followed by leaves. Based evaluation results CFSI RFO indices, 18 magnificent importance been screened out, such as Houttuynia cordata , Eryngium foetidum Sechium edule Centella asiatica Pseudocydonia sinensis . Conclusion These findings guiding conservation facilitation scientific utilization meet people’s needs healthy life.
