With the growing elderly population and increasing incidence of various aging-related diseases, scientific community is faced with an urgent challenge to identify natural anti-aging agents. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) polysaccharides have been proven good activities. This article reviews literature on pathways traditional applied Caenorhabditis elegans models in past decade. In our study, we found that 45 TCM from 28 genera 26 families could delay aging process C. elegans. mainly by anti-oxidative stress, eliminating free radicals, repairing DNA damage, insulin/insulin-like growth factor signaling pathway (IIS pathway). addition, number prolong lifespan reducing inflammation, regulating intestinal flora, affecting immune cell function. this paper, was used as animal model clarify polysaccharides, so provide theoretical guidance for future research clinical experiments effect polysaccharides.

Polygonatum Mill. (Asparagaceae) is an edible crop with great potential for development in China. This study focused on the analysis of protein components from kingianum Coll. et Hemsl (DHJ), P. cyrtonema Hua (DHHJ), and sibiricum Red (HJ). DHJ exhibited lowest content (83.2 mg/g), highest essential AA rate (23.6 %), degree hydrolysis (13.5 PDCAAS (0.57). DHHJ had contents (189.8 (21.6 (10.8 (0.42). The first limiting was found to be Lys Lys/Leu HJ. 96 carbohydrate, 61 amino acid, 83 energy metabolism-related differential proteins were identified. Protein A0A5P1F9I9 Q5EER7 highly related digestive nutritional properties. could provide reference better utilizing component.

A Polygonatum cyrtonema Hua (PCH) is a common medicinal and edible plant whose rhizomes are widely used for the treatment prevention of various diseases. Previous studies have revealed variety chemical components such as polysaccharides, saponins, flavonoids, which possess biological activities antimicrobial, lipid-regulating, anti-aging, hypoglycemic, anti-inflammatory. However, to date, structure activity its oligosaccharide still unclear. In this study, we developed method combining ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography with Q-Exactive Orbitrap mass spectrometry (UHPLC-Q-Exactive MS) monosaccharide analysis identification oligosaccharides in PCH. Finally, total 44 oligosaccharides, including 27 fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS), 10 arabino-oligosaccharides (AOS), 7 others, were identified based on precise relative molecular fragment ion information provided by high-resolution spectrometry, combination standard comparison, composition analysis, relevant literature reports. All those reported first time. These findings laid foundation subsequent study substances theoretical basis more comprehensive development utilization PCH product.

These function not only as defensive compounds but also constitute significant sources nutrition pharmaceuticals. However, the mechanisms governing synthesis these have long been a central focus research continue pose challenges. As widely used in traditional Chinese medicine and nutritional food, Polygonati Rhizom is known for its diverse pharmacological properties, including hematopoiesis, immune enhancement, antitumor, anti‐inflammatory, antioxidant, antiaging, antiviral, hepatoprotection. polysaccharides (PRPs) are primary bioactive compounds that water‐soluble mainly comprise fructose (Fru), glucose (Glc), galactose (Gal), arabinose (Ara), rhamnose (Rha), fucose (Fuc), xylose (Xyl), glucuronic acid (GlcA), galacturonic (GalA). Meanwhile, different extraction methods, such as hot water ultrasonic extractions, can significantly affect the yield of PRPs, Additionally, PRPs were also reported to hold promising potential a drug carrier. Herein, extraction, structure elucidation, biological activities, carrier applications systematically summarized, providing reference further research development Rhizom.
