Abstract Dietary polysaccharides have the function of regulating gut microbiota and metabolites, can serve as an important source functional foods. This study aimed to analyze regulation poria cocos on structure metabolism human through in vitro fecal fermentation model. The results showed that Poria be utilized by microbiota, resulting in a significant decrease pH increase concentration short-chain fatty acids. Additionally, relative abundance beneficial bacteria such Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium increased, while harmful Escherichia-Shigella, Bilophila decreased. Furthermore, had positive effect microbial significantly up-regulating metabolites L-cystine, etelcalcetide. These highlight role maintaining intestinal health indicate their potential prebiotics food industry.

Gastrodia elata Blume is a well-known medicinal and edible plant in China, celebrated for its extensive history traditional medicine functional food applications. Among key bioactive components, polysaccharides have drawn significant attention from researchers the fields of health due to their potential benefits. Recent studies revealed various biological activities associated with G. polysaccharides, including antioxidant, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, anti-aging, immune regulation, neuroprotective properties. However, comprehensive overview these remains elusive. Specifically, relationship between structure activity along mechanisms through which types exert effects, has yet be fully elucidated. This knowledge gap may impede further development utilization medicine, products, food, cosmetics. paper provides recent advancements extraction, separation, purification, activities, applications polysaccharides. Additionally, it delves into structure-activity relationships pharmacological giving support future research enhance application

Introduction: Stress-related gastric mucosal lesions (SGMLs) are the most common complication in critical care patients. Previous studies have demonstrated that herbal pair (HP), Polygonum hydropiper-Coptis chinensis (HP P-C) has anti-SGML effect. However, underlying mechanism of HP P-C against SGML remains elusive. This study aimed to elucidate how extracts exert their protective effects on by examining role gut microbiota and metabolites. Methods: SD rats were pretreated with different doses for 6 days, followed inducing water-immersion restraint stress (WIRS). After a comprehensive evaluation serum tissue indicators rats, 16S rRNA sequencing metabolomics analyses conducted assess impact fecal microorganisms metabolites correlation. Results: Animal experiment suggested pretreatment effectively reduced lesions, remarkably increased superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity model induced WIRS. analysis showed altered composition raising abundance Lactobacillus Akkermansia . In addition, data identified seventeen main differential related WIRS-induced injury, primarily involving tyrosine metabolism betalain biosynthesis. was found regulate biosynthesis down-regulating tyramine, L-tyrosine L-dopa up -regulating gentisic acid dopaquinone. Conclusion: Taken together, this indicated could protect modulating intestinal flora
