ABSTRACT The health impacts of particulate matter (PM) depend on its concentration, size and composition. Herein, we quantified the changes in emissions primary PM2.5, PM2.5–10 PM>10 with aerodynamic diameters <2.5 μm, 2.5–10 μm >10 respectively, black carbon (BC), organic (OC) to address driving factors. temporal trends PM follow Kuznets curves, 1995 as peak year when gross domestic product per capita was only US$1023, showing a late-mover advantage. fractions PM2.5 : BC OC non-carbonaceous-PM2.5 from various sectors varied following different trajectories. mass iron–steel production industries changed 21% 12% 67% 1960 50% 13% 37% 2019, decrease size. were linearly correlated whereas dependence differed before after 1995, owing residential emissions. Various factors influencing carbonaceous fraction explored. major promotion dust-removal capacity transition energy solid fuels emission-free fuels, which increased fine fraction.

With the continuous acceleration of urbanization, air pollution has become an increasingly serious threat to public health. Strengthening detection and control pollutants a focal point in current society. In light increasing amount literature field with every passing year, numerous reviews have been compiled; however, only limited number employ bibliometric methods comprehensively review summarize research trends this field. Herein, study utilizes two analysis tools, namely, CiteSpace (6.1.R6) VOSviewer (1.6.20), conduct visual comprehensive spanning 2000 2023. By doing so, it establishes knowledge framework for on control. Simultaneously, collaborative network analysis, reference co-citation keyword co-occurrence prominence are employed undertake exhaustive profound examination within domain. Results indicate that, over time, relevant papers exponentially increased, while interdisciplinary cooperation gradually formed. Additionally, describes key areas research, including residue treatment, regional joint control, mechanism analysis. Finally, challenges faced by researchers their different perspectives discussed. To better integrate findings we explore correlations among data systematically present developmental trends. This confirms nature hope its guiding future.

Understanding the evolution of low-carbon efficiency in urban built-up areas is essential for developing countries striving to meet sustainable development goals. However, mechanisms driving and associated pathways remain underexplored. This study applies Global Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) model, Malmquist-Luenberger Index, econometric models evaluate its determinants across China's from 2010 2022. The findings reveal a significant increase efficiency, 0.555 0.785 2022, reflecting an overall improvement 41.4% (P < 0.05). Spatially, demonstrates pronounced "east-high west-low" distribution, highlighting regional disparities spatial correlations. Temporal changes are primarily driven by technological advancements shifts frontier. disproportionate gains during periods high resource input suggest inefficiencies production factor allocation, particularly densely populated centers. Unlike natural endowments, concentrated inputs such cities often impede improvements. underscore need context-sensitive strategies, as one-size-fits-all model may not address diverse challenges posed disparities. By leveraging market optimize allocation strengthen interregional connectivity, this provides actionable insights promoting land economies.
