Consuming ‘God Juice’: Using ‘ethnopharmacological‐connoisseurship’ to situate trenbolone use and knowledge among image and performance enhancing drug communities

Abstract Introduction Trenbolone, a potent anabolic‐androgenic steroid (AAS), is used for its muscle growth benefits but poses significant health risks, including psychosocial issues. Existing research among humans limited by lack of targeted investigation. This study addresses gaps in existing leveraging the ethnopharmacological expertise trenbolone consumers. By engaging with community's connoisseurship, we sought to enhance harm reduction strategies and foster collaboration between consumers, scholars practitioners. Methods An international sample consumers ( N = 30) were interviewed. Interviews explored use, knowledge levels strategies. Analysis involved an iterative categorisation approach, incorporating lead author's lived experience trenbolone. Results Participants described as both physical enhancer source psychological boosts, tempered adverse effects such emotional volatility intrusive thoughts. Despite warnings about dangers drug's allure was amplified social media community visibility. Consumers spoke developing connoisseur‐like through personal shared experiences. Through this collective expertise, they developed conservative dosing regular monitoring. Discussion Conclusions demonstrates importance integrating ethnopharmacological‐connoisseurship from image performance enhancing drug develop contextually relevant understanding AAS use—trenbolone being one these. elevating insights, advocate collaborative approach reduction. Ultimately, call partnerships researchers, professionals reduce communities.
