Low molecular weight (6.5 kDa) Glycyrrhiza polysaccharide (GP) exhibits good immunomodulatory activity, however, the mechanism underlying GP-mediated regulation of immunity and gut microbiota remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to reveal mechanisms using cyclophosphamide (CTX)-induced immunosuppressed intestinal mucosal injury models. GP reversed CTX-induced structural damage increased number goblet cells, CD4+, CD8+ T lymphocytes, mucin content, particularly by maintaining balance helper lymphocyte 1/helper 2 (Th1/Th2). Moreover, alleviated immunosuppression down-regulating extracellular regulated protein kinases/p38/nuclear factor kappa-Bp50 pathways increasing short-chain fatty acids level secretion cytokines, including interferon-γ, interleukin (IL)-4, IL-2, IL-10, IL-22, transforming growth factor-β3 immunoglobulin (Ig) M, IgG secretory A. treatment total species diversity microbiota. Microbiota analysis showed that promoted proliferation beneficial bacteria, Muribaculaceae_unclassified, Alistipes, Lachnospiraceae_NK4A136_group, Ligilactobacillus, Clostridia_vadinBB60_group, reduced abundance Proteobacteria CTX-derived bacteria (Clostridiales_unclassified, Candidatus_Arthromitus, Firmicutes_unclassified, Clostridium). Ginseng is a very commonly used natural product in the world, and its two main species are Asian ginseng American ginseng. an adaptogenic botanical that reportedly protects body against stress, stabilizes physiological processes, restores homeostasis. Previously, different animal models contemporary research methodologies have been to reveal ginseng’s biomedical activities systems linked mechanisms of actions. However, human clinical observation data on effects attracted more attention from general public medical community. In this paper, after introduction phytochemistry species, we review positive studies, mainly conducted developed countries, performed over past 20 years. The reported presented several sections, conditions impacted by include diabetes; cardiovascular disorders; cognition, memory, mood; common cold flu; cancer fatigue well-being; quality life social functioning, etc. Administration demonstrated good safety record humans. Although encouraging beneficial obtained data, using study treatment regimen, only ranged mild moderate. Nonetheless, these could be valuable add-on therapy for patients receiving standard drug treatments. Additionally, as dietary supplement, possesses important role maintaining promoting health. We believe future trials should improved, particularly providing detailed herbal control information. With solid effectiveness well-designed, carefully executed trial, meritoriously medicine will widely consumers patients.

The use of diversified ginseng extracts in health-promoting foods is difficult to differentiate, as they share bioactive ginsenosides among different Panax species (e.g., P. ginseng, quinquefolius, notoginseng, and japonicus) parts root, leaf, flower). Polysaccharide-based gold nanomaterials have attracted great interest in biomedical fields such as cancer therapy and immunomodulation due to their prolonged residence time vivo enhanced immune response. This review aims provide an up-to-date comprehensive summary of polysaccharide-based Au NMs synthesis, including mechanisms, polysaccharide structure-effects, anticancer activity. Firstly, research progress on the synthesis mechanism was addressed, which included three types based variety polysaccharides reaction environment: breaking glycosidic bonds via (III) or base-mediated production highly reduced intermediates, reduction free hydroxyl groups molecules, amino molecules. This work characterized the structural features and investigated immunomodulatory activity of an alkaline-precipitated polysaccharide fraction produced by Chaetomium globosum CGMCC 6882 (CGP-AP) in RAW 264.7 macrophages. The CGP-AP yield was 0.93 ± 0.08 g/L, which contained 98.33% 2.04% (w/w) carbohydrate 1.52% 0.26% protein. Structural analysis showed that comprised glucose (99.51%) arabinose (0.49%), its weight (Mw) number (Mn) average molecular weights were 0.948 0.55 kDa, polydispersity (Mw/Mn) 1.724. In vitro results show stimulated nitric oxide production tumor necrosis factor-α, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-8 secretion via upregulation expression levels related genes Meanwhile, upregulated proinflammatory (inducible synthase cyclooxygenase-2 COX-2). Dietary plant polysaccharides, one of the main sources natural possess significant cancer prevention activity and potential development value in food medicine fields.
