The past COVID-19 pandemic has led to a surge in the use of disposable masks, posing significant environmental challenge due swift accumulation waste. This study explores potential pyrolysis transform this waste into valuable oil with characteristics akin gasoline, addressing both management and energy derivation concerns. Pyrolysis, thermal decomposition process, was applied mask materials, producing an high calorific value 45.93 MJ/kg. chemical makeup pyrolytic meticulously characterized using Pyrolysis-Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (PY-GC/MS) Fourier-transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), confirming presence hydrocarbons similar those found gasoline. Achieving efficiency 41.865%, approach demonstrated promising for not only managing but also creating alternative carrier. However, advises that before considering engine use, thorough evaluation its combustion quality, compatibility, impact is essential. investigation advances discussion on sustainable management, offering insights generation fuels from daily streams, while highlighting necessity comprehensive analyses ensure practicality such novel solutions.
