Green MgO-based banana peel activated carbon (MgO-BPAC) with distinctive pore structure features was synthesized magnesium nitrate as the template and activator. A novel solid-phase microextraction (SPME) fiber prepared by fixing MgO-BPAC on surface of a stainless-steel wire using silicone sealant. The coupled gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for headspace-solid phase microextraction-GC-MS (HS-SPME-GC-MS) polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). laboratory-constructed showed good extraction efficiency naphthalene, acenaphthylene, acenaphthene, fluorene, phenanthrene, anthracene corresponding analytical parameters were determined. method provided low detection limits (0.86–2.12 ng/L) satisfactory replicate extractions one (relative standard deviations ≤ 10.30%) to reproducibility 13.92%). To validate performance homemade fibers, this approach used determination PAHs (0.05 μg/L) in spiked environmental water samples recoveries (92.67%–114.45%) obtained. This study introduces biocarbon material functional coating component which adsorbs constituents through hydrophobic interactions.
