The control of waterborne diseases through water disinfection is a significant advancement in public health. However, the process generates by-products (DBPs), including trihalomethanes (THMs), which are considered to influence occurrence cancer. This analysis aims quantitatively evaluate relationship between blood concentrations THMs and Additionally, chloroform concentration cancer analyzed separately. Following PRISMA guidelines, we conducted thorough search PubMed, Web Science, CNKI databases. Statistical was performed using Review Manager 5.4 software. After screening, seven studies meeting evaluation criteria were included. A total 1027 samples from patients with 7351 group collected. average experimental 46.71 pg/mL, while it 36.406 pg/mL group. difference two groups statistically (SMD = −0.36, 95% CI: −0.45 −0.27, p < 0.00001). due limited research data on cancer, conclusions drawn exhibit high heterogeneity. discussed carcinogenic mechanisms THMs, involve multiple biological pathways such as oxidative stress, DNA adduct formation, endocrine disruption, variations accumulation target sites potentially leading different types, for evidence currently lacking. In future, further epidemiological animal model should be obtain more accurate conclusions.

Dissolved organic matter (DOM) is the primary precursor of disinfection products (DBPs) during chlorination. However, compositional characteristics DOM transformation chlorination process in different source waters and its relationship to cytotoxicity remain understudied. Here, we used high-resolution mass spectrometry evaluate chlorination-induced molecular-level changes derived from surface water sources. We correlated components with profiles selected DBPs using new alternative methods predictive toxicological assessments. Our findings indicate a selective natural tendency for lignin protein conversion manual process. The reactivity bioactive compounds decreased order > tannin or ConAC. mainly attributed lignin- protein-like within CHO CHNO groups. Approaches focused on improving animal health are essential strategies to increase the quality and productivity of livestock sector. Bovine mastitis is a prevalent disease in dairy farming worldwide. All water destined for human consumption must be subjected to disinfection processes via chlorination with the aim of eliminating risk transmission waterborne diseases. However, treatment using this method leads formation trihalomethanes (THMs), which are toxic compounds that may ingested, inhaled, or absorbed by skin, increasing carcinogenic and mutagenic processes. High trihalomethane concentrations in directly related physicochemical properties, such as temperature, pH, hardness, potentially metal concentrations.
