Abstract The global asymmetry in the floristic diversity distribution within mangrove ecosystems is well-documented. However, sediment microbial communities, which play crucial ecological roles, are often overlooked biogeography studies. This study aimed to investigate diversity, composition, and of prokaryotic communities across distinct bioregions (12 countries territories from Caribbean bioregion, Southeast America, East Africa, Indo-Malaysia Australasia). We conducted a meta-analysis by compiling 16S rDNA datasets 17 previous studies (540 samples) over six year period (2014-2020) applied community ecology analyses combined with random forest models. Although no significant correlation was observed between tree richness hotspot identified Indo-West Pacific region. Microbiota associated different mangroves displayed opposite latitudinal gradients beta-dispersions. Distance-decay relationships were weak but statistically significant. Random models key taxa, OTUs shared all suggested presence potential core microbiota. Taxonomic statistical underscored great heterogeneity microbiota heavily influenced (e.g., molecular bioinformatic methodologies). Future research on microbiome would benefit standardized sampling sequencing methods. Despite current limitations, distance-decay relationship confirmed influence dispersal barriers for also suggests that environmental factors, rather than plant alone, may prominent role shaping composition sediments.

Mangrove forests, found primarily in tropical and subtropical coastal regions, support diverse microbial communities that are crucial for nutrient cycling energy flow then sustain mangrove ecosystem integrity. This study investigated the seasonal dynamics of bacterial sediments Shupaisha island (Zhejiang Province, China) through amplifying high-throughput sequencing 16S rRNA gene fragments. Proteobacteria (23.59-44.40%), Actinobacteria (4.92-19.01%), Bacteroidetes (4.31-22.79%) dominated phyla with highest diversity indices winter. were more abundant during winter (13.27%) spring (14.36%), while abundance was summer, significantly correlating temperature. Significant differences community composition observed between autumn exhibited similar distribution, indicating a transitional pattern dynamics, temperature sand content being most influential factors. enhances our understanding characteristics ecosystems, potentially providing valuable insights into monitoring assessing health stability ecosystems Zhejiang Province.
