Lignocellulosic feedstocks are year-round, available bio-residues that the right candidates for counteracting energy crises and global warming facing world today. However, lignin leads to a slow hydrolysis rate is major bottleneck biogas production via anaerobic digestion. Anaerobic co-digestion (AcoD) an economical method available, which overcomes limitation of single feedstock’s properties in digestion process. This paper critically reviews impacts on lignocellulosic biomass degradation, process stability, various working parameters, microbial activities improve methane yields. A combination compatible substrates chosen biomethane yield conversion organic matter. AcoD promising delignification as acid pretreatment. Ultimate practices control impact system performances include co-feed selection, terms both carbon-to-nitrogen (C/N) mixing ratios, other operating conditions. detailed analysis performed using data reported recent past assess sensitivity influencing parameters resultant yield. For investigators motivated by basic principles technology, this review generates baseline further research work around co-digestion.
