Vinyl
chloride
belongs
to
the
group
of
chlorinated
volatile
hydrocarbons,
which
is
used
as
a
monomer
in
production
polyvinyl
chloride,
one
most
commonly
plastic
materials.
In
addition
its
industrial
applications,
vinyl
can
also
occur
groundwater
degradation
product
trichloroethylene
and
tetrachloroethylene.
This
paper
presents
results
investigating
efficiency
ozone
oxidation
sorption
on
granular
activated
carbon
(GAC)
applied
for
removal
from
synthetic
water
groundwater.
It
was
found
that
significantly
more
efficient
by
ozonation
achieved
absence
interfering
ions
compared
The
application
GAC
filtration
enables
effective
pollutant
residual
(<0.5
µg/l).
Combining
processes
drinking
treatment

extensive
use

worldwide
has
led
to
their
increasing
accumulation
in
aquatic
environments,
adversely
affecting
both
ecosystems

human
health
leading

emergence

bacteria.
Antibiotic
residues
enter
water
bodies
primarily
through
wastewater
effluent
discharge,
agricultural
runoff,
improper
disposal
pharmaceuticals.
Several
emerging
technologies
have
been
developed
response
challenge
antibiotic
contamination
wastewater.
Among
these,
advanced
oxidation
processes
(AOPs),
including
photocatalysis,
demonstrated
significant
potential
for
degradation.
Photocatalysis
relies
on
production
powerful
oxidants
degrade
pollutants
under
simulated
or
solar-light
irradiation.
Apart
from
well-known
TiO2,
various
photocatalytic
materials
used
with
metal
oxides
frontline.
In
this
context,
doping
reduce
bandgap
energy
enhance
absorption
visible
light
charge-carrier
separation.
Doping
non-metals
carbon-based
is
another
attractive
alternative
that
promotes
better
degradation
efficiency
suppresses
recombination.
Moreover,
designs,
such
as
heterojunction
constructions,
effective
charge
separation
wider
utilization
spectrum.
This
comprehensive
review
summarizes
recent
advances
design,
characterization,
efficiency,
mechanisms
photocatalysts
degrading
wastewater,
along
toxicity
assessments
resulting
transformation
products.
By
examining
these
parameters,
current
body
knowledge
consolidated,
providing
valuable
insights
into
purification
removal.
Finally,
by
emphasizing
critical
environmental
importance
streamlined
photocatalysis
challenges
associated
scaling
up
process,
highlights
its
feasibility
mitigating
pollution,
thereby
safeguarding
reducing
risks
resistance.

Abstract
Doxycycline
(DOX)
is
a
contaminant
present
in
different
water
bodies.
Fenton
and
photo‐Fenton
are
two
advanced
oxidation
technologies
with
high
potential
for
environmental
remediation.
This
study
aimed
to
eliminate
DOX
from
aqueous
solutions
using
Fenton,
photo‐Fenton,
helicoidal
flow
reactor.
The
experimental
conditions
related
the
presence
of
ferrous
ions
hydrogen
peroxide
were
optimized.
After
60
min
reaction,
extents
pollutant
elimination
mineralization
∼85.0
%
∼30.0
%,
respectively.
Hydroxyl
radicals
identified
as
agents
responsible
under
evaluated
conditions.
Finally,
some
reaction
by‐products
identified,
removal
route
was
proposed.
