The adhesion and alignment of osteoblasts fibroblasts on titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V) surfaces can be adjusted over a wide range by femtosecond laser treatment anodization. great differences in cell behavior between different experimental conditions raised further questions about the role migration, which will addressed this study. For that, Ti-6Al-4V were laser-structured to obtain surface covered with ripples, i.e., laser-induced periodic structures (LIPSS), or micro-cones superimposed ripples. Then, cells seeded either directly onto non-structured areas samples beside such where they reach migration. After two weeks culture, coverage was evaluated scanning electron microscopy (SEM). results showed that nearly completely eventually aligned along ripple direction for areas. In contrast, cell-seeding samples, remain cell-free while similar non-oriented manner as direct cell-seeding. These reduced osteoblast migration due structuring are line findings animal experiments. There, new bone formation laser-processed 26.1% ± 16.9% lower comparison untreated same type, explained hindered screws.
