During the cold metal transfer (CMT) arc additive manufacturing process of steel/copper bimetallic materials, interfacial penetration cracks have been observed due to significant differences in thermal and physical properties between steel copper. To mitigate occurrence these enhance elemental diffusion at junction, this study aims fabricate high-performance materials with a uniform microstructure using CMT techniques. A reciprocating sequence was adopted, deposited first, followed by Four different interlayer compositions, Cu-Ni, Fe-Ni, Cu-Cr, Ni-Cr, were applied surface before deposition aluminum bronze. These interlayers served as transition copper materials. The then continued bronze achieve desired structure. After addition interlayers, all four sets samples exhibited excellent macroscopic formability, clear smooth contours no visible or collapse defects junction interfaces. mechanical composite walls enhanced following an increase tensile strength across samples. sample Fe-Ni showed most improvement, 52% impact energy absorption. Furthermore, demonstrated higher average hardness level than other groups, which associated distribution content iron-rich phase β' phase.
