MXene-reinforced composite coatings have recently shown promise for metal anticorrosion due to their large aspect ratio and antipermeability; however, the challenges of poor dispersion, oxidation, sedimentation MXene nanofillers in a resin matrix that are often encountered existing curing methods greatly limited practical applications. Herein, we reported an efficient, ambient, solvent-free electron beam (EB) technology fabricate PDMS@MXene filled acrylate-polyurethane (APU) 2024 Al alloy, common aerospace structural material. We showed dispersion nanoflakes modified by PDMS-OH was dramatically improved EB-cured enhanced water resistance through additional water-repellent groups PDMS-OH. Moreover, controllable irradiation-induced polymerization enabled unique high-density cross-linked network, presenting physical barrier against corrosive media. The newly developed APU-PDMS@MX1 achieved excellent corrosion-resistance with highest protection efficiency 99.9957%. coating uniformly distributed promoted corrosion potential, current density, rate be -0.14 V, 1.49 × 10-9 A/cm2, 0.0004 mm/year, respectively, impedance modulus increased 1-2 orders magnitude compared APU-PDMS coating. This work combining 2D material EB broadens avenue designing fabricating protection.

Future potentials presented.
