Buildings are one the largest energy-consuming sectors in world, and it is crucial to find solutions reduce their energy consumption. One way evaluate these using building simulation software, which provides a comprehensive perspective. In this article, DesignBuilder software (v 6.1), effect of phase-change materials (PCMs) on external walls ceiling Department Mechanical Engineering Shahid Beheshti University (Tehran, Iran) has been investigated. The methodology involves use layer PCMs for three locations: (1) walls; (2) ceiling; (3) both ceiling, with/without PV panels, leads seven scenarios (alongside reference one). result shows that greater impact heating load than cooling more effective ceilings walls. For simultaneous walls, loads, comparison with initial condition building, reduced by 24%, 12%, respectively. When solar increases 12.6%, decreases 8.6%, whereas total consumption fairly constant when panels PCMs. last conditions, primary evaluated values shifted significantly. Notably, CO2 emissions saw nearly 50% reduction, making best performance option.

The critical advantages of liquid fuels in aviation over alternative energy carriers imply their dominance the upcoming decades. Mixture Temperature Controlled (MTC) combustion concept allows spatially homogeneous, efficient burning (distributed combustion) with low pollutant emission. MTC jet fuel JP-8 was investigated an atmospheric burner, and measured concentrations flue gas were reproduced using Hybrid Chemistry (HyChem) approach employing Perfectly Stirred Reactor simulations. Using this robust comes losing spatiotemporal characteristics if mixture homogeneity assumption is globally valid. effect residence time pressure under typical turbine operating conditions investigated. Stable present above 3 ms at pressures up 60 bar, which upper limit regime, while lower stable 0.3 ms. interval operation could be extended by applying recirculation. NO emission can reduced increasing pressure, N2O production dominant only to 20 bar 10–100 range. CO vanishes 10 time. Ultra-low requires >20 distributed combustion, requiring larger chambers for future engines.
