The acoustic landscape directly affects people’s perceptual experience, which is crucial to enhancing urban greenways’ visibility experience. This study analyzed data from three typical greenways in Fuzhou City. By classifying and combining the space into two levels of “enclosure–coverage”, was categorized six types: covered, uncovered, open, semi-open, semi-enclosed, enclosure space. We explored characteristics soundscape perception factors affecting evaluation different spaces. results showed that differences sound sources between day night led spatial types. pressure level decreased with an increasing degree coverage. scores source were significantly degrees coverage, where open covered most sensitive sound, played a positive role harmony artificial sound. Pleasantness richness main influencing overall perception, contributing 50% 17%, respectively. Visitors’ age, residence type, visit frequency perception. conclusions provide reference for improving quality.

Abstract Forests’ ability to provide opportunities for recreation is an important ecosystem service. This has prompted attempts create indicators assess forests' suitability recreation, although hitherto with limited success. study introduces a novel framework of potential and realised recreational values forests, primary focus on Sweden Fennoscandia. We divided forest attributes into intrinsic qualities (i.e. the structure composition forest), extrinsic location in relation other components landscape), facilitation presence infrastructure). Using Fennoscandia as case study, we performed literature review find specific values, well evaluate current availability spatial data suitable map national scale. The most quality identified was tree size/age, whereas it proximity water. Systematic monitoring use essential estimate values. conceptual proved be valuable tool identifying indicators, applying regions likely yield useful outcomes.

The restorative effects of soundscapes on human physical and mental well-being are widely recognized, but their effectiveness is influenced by various factors, including external environments individual characteristics. Despite being a crucial element in environmental experience, the role behavior has been insufficiently studied. To address this research gap, we conducted survey five parks Fuzhou, China, using questionnaires to assess visitors’ evaluations soundscape characteristics, experiences, behavioral A total 419 valid responses were collected. Using these data, employed structural equation model conditional process analysis explore interaction between visitor experiences. results show that with pleasantness eventfulness promote static behaviors certain degree, while dynamic solely soundscapes. In which characteristics influence only mediating factor, accounting for 8% effect. Additionally, increased visit intensity enhances impact experiences weakening effect behavior. These findings provide strong support relevant design considerations.

Introduction A nature-connected environment is important for constructing building infrastructures in a sustainable city. However, its realistic application rarely utilized urban planning, primarily due to lack of accurate regression emotional perceptions nature connectedness against existing landscape metrics. Method In this study, Changsha was selected as the study area, targeting 50 parks plots, with 165 left unselected prediction. Twenty pedestrians were randomly approached assess their connectedness. Self-reported data used evaluate positive and negative emotion scores (Cronbach α: 0.803) nonparametric relation index (ENRI) (Pearson correlation retest: R square = 66.37%). Results Three machine-learning algorithms (random forest, AdaBoost, gradient boosting trees [GBT]) compared, GBT being ( square: 76.49 ‒ 88.64 %) further comparison multivariate linear (MLR). Principal component analysis verification, algorithm surpassed MLR performance. The green view (GVI) large open spaces found correlate emotions (parameter estimate [PE]: 0.02 0.13). Conversely, areas blue low GVI on flat plane evoke (PE: -0.13 -0.04, respectively). Discussion Artificial intelligence describing cases design using our findings. For purpose visitors, embedded can be designed distant tree canopies closer view. Large area should not recommended no matter whether buildings background
