Conditioned pain modulation (CPM) is a psychophysical experimental measure of the endogenous inhibitory pathway in humans, wherein one stimulus (the conditioning stimulus) used to inhibit an individual's perception second painful (test) stimulus. Research provides evidence impaired responses adults with chronic pain. CPM now increasingly applied paediatric research and clinical practice. The primary aim this systematic review was examine efficacy populations (6-24-year-olds) compared pain-free children young people (CYP).
