Molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) are defined as artificial receptors due to their selectivity and specificity. Their advantageous properties compared biological alternatives have sparked interest among scientists, detailed in numerous review papers. Currently, there is significant attention on adhering the principles of green chemistry environmental protection. In this context, MIP research groups focused developing eco-friendly procedures. The application "greener" monomers reagents, along with utilization computational methodologies for design property analysis, two activities that align molecularly technology. This discusses preparation MIPs based non-acrylic/vinylic precursors, such alkoxysilanes, ionic liquids, deep eutectic solvents, bio-based molecules-specifically saccharides, biomolecules like proteins. It provides a brief introduction materials, aspects production, simulations. Following this, descriptions studied monomers, molecular simulation studies monomer-based MIPs, strategies presented. Finally, conclusions an outlook future directions analysis production materials pointed out. To best my knowledge, work first combine these principles.
