The objective of developing effective triazine-based corrosion inhibitors aims to mitigate the significant issue in carbon steel pipelines within oil and gas field environments. In present study, we synthesised a inhibitor designated as ST-2 through two-step process utilising melamine, octylamine, diethylenetriamine ethanedioic acid precursor materials. structural characterisation was conducted using Fourier transform infra-red spectroscopy proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. performance inhibiting at temperature 90°C evaluated static weight loss electrochemical techniques, which demonstrated inhibition efficiency 92.14% concentration 200 mg/L. structure–activity relationship film-forming mechanism were investigated application functional theory molecular dynamics simulations. results revealed that heteroatoms molecule exhibited interactions with metal substrate. At mg/L, absolute value adsorption energy determined be 1084.74 kcal/mol. Under these experimental conditions, resulting film maximum thickness, optimal densification enhanced performance.
