In the development of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), peritoneal macrophages contribute to resident intestinal macrophage pool. Previous studies have demonstrated that oral administration L-fucose exerts an immunomodulatory effect and repolarizes in vivo mice. this study, we analyzed phenotype metabolic profile from Muc2−/− mice, as well on morphological characteristics these vitro. The investigation utilized flow cytometry, quantitative PCR (qPCR), measurement intracellular ATP Ca2+ concentrations, analysis mitochondrial respiration membrane potential, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) for ultrastructural evaluations. mice exhibited lower levels their macrophages, a higher percentage stellate increased oxygen consumption rate (OCR), combined with mitochondria displaying abnormal ultrastructure. Additionally, there was five-fold increase condensed compared level C57BL/6 number CD209+ reduced three-fold, while M1-like cells two-fold treatment enhanced production expression Parp1, Mt-Nd2, Mt-Nd6 genes, which may suggest reduction pro-inflammatory factor shift differentiation towards M2 phenotype.
