Semiconductor
based
photo-catalysts
which
was
an
efficient
process
to
treat
water
and
wastewater.There
are
various
techniques
can
be
used
for
enhancement
of
photo-catalytic
properties
such
as
element
rich
strategy,
defect
control
facet
engineering.Many
methods
were
manufacturing
BiOBr,
including
ion-exchange
method,
solvothermal
wet-chemical
ultra-sonication
co-precipitation
method
hydrothermal
method.Various
operational
parameters
have
initial
pH
solution,
catalyst
dosage
inorganic
ions
been
employed
show
their
roles
on
the
photo-degradation
efficiency
pollutants.Elemental
doping
coupled
semiconductors
widely
using
enhancing
BiOBr
performance.It
concluded
that
binary
ternary
composites
ability
activity
increased
degradation
more
than
50%
compared
with
pure
BiOBr.According
suitable
band
structure,
bismuth
bromide
oxide
is
a
promising
candidate
wastewater
efficiently
by
technique.

Abstract
Semiconductor
photocatalytic
technology
holds
immense
promise
for
converting
sustainable
solar
energy
into
chemically
storable
energy,
with
significant
applications
in
the
realms
of
and
environment.
However,
inherent
issue
rapid
recombination
photogenerated
electrons
holes
hinders
performance
single
photocatalysts.
To
overcome
this
challenge,
construction
2D
S‐scheme
heterojunction
photocatalysts
emerges
as
an
effective
strategy.
The
deliberate
design
dimensionality
ensures
a
substantial
interfacial
area;
while,
charge
transfer
mechanism
facilitates
efficient
separation
maximizes
redox
capabilities.
This
review
commences
fresh
perspective
on
heterojunctions,
followed
by
comprehensive
exploration
preparation
methods
characterization
techniques.
Subsequently,
recent
advancements
are
summarized.
Notably,
behind
activity
enhancement
is
elucidated.
Finally,
prospects
development
presented.
