OsJAZ10 Modulates Metabolite Profiles in Rice Seedlings in Response to Alkaline Stress

The
jasmonate
ZIM-domain
(JAZ)
proteins,
known
as
inhibitors
in
the
jasmonic
acid
(JA)
pathway,
have
been
reported
to
play
a
protective
role
against
abiotic
stress
plants.
Nevertheless,
specific
of
JAZ
proteins
rice
seedlings
under
alkaline
remains
unexplored.
In
this
study,
we
mainly
focus
on
OsJAZ10,
investigating
physiological
response
mechanism
and
metabolic
regulation
challenged
by
stress.
Our
results
revealed
that
antioxidant
enzyme
activity
osmotic
adjustment
ability
OsJAZ10
overexpression
lines
were
less
affected
compared
WT
(Wild-type)
line.
Metabolomic
analysis
demonstrated
significant
accumulation
organic
acids,
including
citrate
DL-malate,
well
amino
acids
such
DL-serine,
DL-glutamine,
threonine,
glycine,
L-glutamate,
plants
Besides,
was
also
involved
pantothenate
CoA
biosynthesis,
carbon
fixation,
C5-branched
dibasic
metabolism
Finally,
found
negatively
regulated
biosynthesis
signaling
pathway
repressing
JA-responsive
genes.
Overall,
research
elucidates
conferring
enhanced
tolerance
rice,
providing
valuable
insights
for
development
stress-tolerant
varieties.
