Abstract The diagnostic criteria of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) have lately expanded beyond the three common symptoms (intrusion, avoidance, and hyperarousal). Simultaneously, four-, five-, six-dimensional structures Impact Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), a popular PTSD measure, seem to be more robust than original three-dimension structure. and/or specific may also evoke adverse cardiometabolic events (e.g., hypertension obesity) in certain groups. Employing convenience sample 58 dental healthcare workers (HCWs) from Russia (mean age = 44.1 ± 12.2 years, 82.8% females), this instrumental study examined criterion predictive validity two IES-R structures: IES-R3 IES-R6 (with added numbing, sleep disturbance, irritability). subscales expressed good internal consistency, strong correlations with Symptom Scale (PSS), diagnosis, high body mass index (BMI). In receiver-operating characteristic (ROC) curve analysis, all models perfectly predicted PSS (all area under (AUC) values > 0.9, p < 0.001). IES-R, both hyperarousal subscales, intrusion significantly BMI. did not predict hypertension, but avoidance it. conclusion, can reliably measure symptoms. hyperarousal, credible variables for predicting BMI within while reflect cardiovascular consequences reaction associated itself. It is pivotal verify results groups those confirmed traumatic exposure comorbid mood dysfunction). Replication larger samples, which comprise different physical metal conditions heterogenous cultural contexts necessary.

Posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and/or specific PTSD symptoms may evoke maladaptive behaviors (e.g., compulsive buying, disordered eating, and an unhealthy lifestyle), resulting in adverse cardiometabolic events hypertension obesity), which implicate the treatment of this complex condition. The diagnostic criteria for have lately expanded beyond three common (intrusion, avoidance, hyperarousal). Including additional such as emotional numbing, sleep disturbance, irritability strengthens representation Impact Event Scale-Revised (IES-R), suggesting that models with four, five, or six dimensions better capture its structure compared to original three-dimensional model.

Abstract Post‐traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is a complex psychological provoked by distressing experiences, and it remains without highly effective intervention strategies. The exploration of PTSD's underlying mechanisms crucial for advancing diagnostic therapeutic approaches. Current studies primarily explore PTSD through the lens central nervous system, investigating concrete molecular alterations in cerebral area neural circuit irregularities. However, body's response to external stressors, particularly changes cardiovascular function, often pronounced, evidenced notable cardiac dysfunction. Consequently, examining with focus on function vital early prevention targeted management disorder. This review undertakes comprehensive literature analysis detail brain heart structures functions associated PTSD. It also synthesizes potential heart–brain axis interactions relevant development Ultimately, considering this proposes novel perspectives prophylaxis therapy.

Post-Traumatic Growth (PTG) is associated with good cardiovascular health, but the mechanisms of this are poorly understood. This cross-sectional analysis assessed whether factors PTG (Appreciation Life (AOL), New Possibilities (NP), Personal Strength (PS), Relating to Others (RTO) and Spiritual Change (SC)) health in a cohort 1006 male UK military personnel (median age 34). The findings suggest AOL, PS RTO better through cardiometabolic effects (lower levels triglycerides, total cholesterol) haemodynamic functioning diastolic blood pressure), not inflammation. However, NP SC were poorer high-density lipoproteins higher AOL had non-linear association low-density lipoproteins. These that relationship between complex need further scrutiny.
