The causal effects of mental health problems on the risk infectious diseases remain vague. Investigating them via observational study is challenging as it presents possible confounding factors. Therefore, objective this was to utilize Mendelian randomization (MR) techniques evaluate relationship between and diseases. Multivariable MR analyses were performed using genome-wide association data for sleep disorders (N = 216,700), depression 500,199), anxiety 290,361), nervous feelings 450,700), unspecified disorder 218,792), pneumonia 486,484), skin subcutaneous tissue infection (SSTI; N intestinal (IIDs; urinary tract 463,010), central system (CNS) infections 218,792) among individuals European ancestry. Independent genetic variants significantly (P < 10-8) associated with each exposure considered instruments. primary analysis used an inverse variance-weighted method, followed by a series sensitivity analyses. Genetically predicted increased SSTI (odds ratio [OR], 1.29 [95% confidence interval (CI), 1.05-1.59]; P .017). linked CNS (OR, 1.59 CI, 1.00-2.53]; .049) (1.24 1.03-1.49]; .024). IIDs 1.19 1.03-1.37]; .017) 1.21 1.02-1.43]; .029). There no significant evidence prediction in IIDs, infections, SSTI, pneumonia, or infection. Sensitivity showed that above estimates robust. In study, we demonstrated disorders, depression, anxiety, However, found support causality feelings,

Overactive bladder (OAB) is a prevalent condition among older adults and may be linked to cognitive health. This study explored relationship between OAB health aged 60 ≥ years in the United States, using NHANES 2011-2014. A cross-sectional analysis was conducted nationally representative sample of 2,324 (45.95% male, 54.05% female), within 755 individuals have OAB. Cognitive assessed Consortium Establish Registry for Alzheimer's Disease-Word Learning (CERAD W-L), Animal Fluency Test (AFT), Digit Symbol Substitution (DSST). defined by score more than 3 on Bladder Syndrome Symptom Score (OABSS). Depression incidence also recorded. Weighted linear regression models adjusted demographic, behavioral factors, comorbidities (e.g., diabetes, kidney disease etc.), were employed examine independent association The results indicated that scores significantly lower group compared non-OAB across all tests (p<0.001). depression higher (15%) (6.05%) Regression revealed 14% decrease z-scores patients with (β=-0.14, CI (95%) [-0.22, -0.06]). Furthermore, found mediate 34.56% [CI (95%): 0.20, 0.69]. negative robust subgroups demographics, comorbidities. study's findings, supported mediation analysis, smoothed curve sensitivity suggest associated OAB, plays an important mediating role this association.

Abstract Current research indicates a strong association between inflammation and the development of overactive bladder (OAB). This study aims to explore correlation five inflammatory indices—Neutrophil/Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR), Platelet/Lymphocyte (PLR), Lymphocyte/Monocyte (LMR), Albumin × Lymphocyte/(CRP 10) (CALLY), Systemic Immune-Inflammation Index (SII)—and OAB. We analyzed data from 12,689 participants 2005 2010, defining OAB by nocturia urgent urinary incontinence. Logistic regression models, Receiver Operating Characteristic (ROC) curves, restricted cubic splines (RCS), subgroup analyses were utilized assess relationship indices Results indicate that all selected reflect levels in patients, with NLR showing outstanding predictive performance significant positive risk. Higher values are associated increased likelihood (OR=1.356, 95% CI=1.241-1.483, P<0.001), incidence rises increasing quartiles. reveals OAB, suggesting could serve as safe, effective, independent indicator compared other markers. finding underscores potential role clinical tool for identifying individuals at risk
