Abstract To achieve social sustainability, there is a need to incorporate metrics of farmers’ well‐being into agricultural monitoring systems. We contribute the operationalisation measurement by determining how farm‐level factors influence satisfaction with their work and quality life. Using data sample 1099 farms that are part Farm Accountancy Data Network (FADN) in nine European countries, we tested set hypotheses related life perception based on structural equation model. Satisfaction on‐farm has significant substantial Farm‐level aspects, such as working time, age assets, financial situation farm community engagement, significantly influenced farming, but joint effect explained less than one‐fifth satisfaction. The results suggest information systems intended monitor compare sustainability progress would benefit from integration metric measuring concerns point view.
