Conservation tillage technology adoption has contributed significantly to sustainable agricultural development, but its effectiveness been hindered by conflicts among governments, agribusinesses, and rural households. The collaboration households (GAR collaboration) is a significant institutional innovation for advancing green development. This study constructs theoretical framework incorporating environmental characteristics, capacity, the of analyze impact heterogeneity effects GAR collaboration. Using village-level survey data from Shaanxi, Ningxia, Gansu Provinces, with focus on conservation technology, this explores mechanisms which influences adoption. findings reveal that: (1) are crucial improving adoption; (2) Environmental characteristics directly affect indirectly influence it through capacity; (3) Village size heterogeneous effect collaboration, being more pronounced in smaller villages; (4) primarily enhances reducing transaction costs defection risks. These insights contribute foundations collaborative approaches agriculture provide practical solutions improve

Abstract We estimate the effects of result‐based agri‐environmental payments on biodiversity using a unique dataset containing information about plant vegetation. The data include surveyed species for large number randomly selected plots followed over period 20 years in Switzerland. In our estimation, we utilize difference‐in‐discontinuities approach based exogenous variation triggered by (i) policy reform Switzerland that led to considerable increase was uncertain prior implementation and (ii) an administrative threshold defines eligibility payment depending botanical quality. find were almost eligible before but not already satisfied criteria. Our findings have important implications design payments.

ABSTRACT Gender dynamics in agricultural sustainability, particularly within the framework of Agri‐Environmental‐Climate‐Schemes (AECS), play a critical role advancing green entrepreneurship. This study explores gender‐based differences adoption and intensity AECS practices among Hungarian farms, emphasising implications for gender equality sustainable development. Utilising Farm Accountancy Data Network panel data from 2014 to 2021, we apply Blinder‐Oaxaca Recentered Influence Function decomposition models dissect disparities engagement between male‐ female‐headed farms. Findings indicate that, while male‐headed farms receive greater subsidies due larger economic scales resource availability, demonstrate comparable levels when controlled these factors. These insights highlight potential gender‐sensitive policies European Union's Common Agricultural Policy empower female farmers entrepreneurship practices. The study's findings contribute broader understanding gender's influence on development agriculture, with significant policy frameworks that support inclusive climate‐resilient globally.

Policy instruments that integrate the actions of multiple farmers are growing interest for improving landscape scale environmental sustainability agriculture. We conducted in-depth, semi-structured interviews with in south-east England and applied thematic analysis to responses perform a qualitative investigation into combined role economic, social, cultural barriers cooperative management, identify possible solutions these barriers. Interviewees recognised benefits but this was low priority compared other management activities, being seen as complex time-consuming, uncertainty over direct participants. External coordination could address by overseeing information sharing on cooperation minimising logistical burden participants, given farmer mistrust outside intervention, projects will be more successful when collaborating feel they control. The efforts both pioneering able initiate their peers, respected facilitators who embody local knowledge experience, vital balancing collaboration. Finding optimal balance between different elements vary circumstances: policy should have flexibility accommodate this. Farmers were wary connecting others possessing farming ideals thus having compromise approach. Some respondents sought bridge gaps focusing aspects identities shared raising possibility support targeting individuals help develop relationships foster lasting change management.

Abstract Policymakers worldwide set ambitious targets to increase the share of organic farming. We conduct a global, systematic literature review synthesise evidence on adoption farming and support policymakers food-value chain actors in reaching policy goals. First, we map existing research identify substantial gaps regarding focus, methodology geographical coverage. Second, using conceptual framework farmers’ process, provide an overview evidence-based recommendations scale adoption. Finally, regression analysis, show that especially market maturity level agricultural productivity matter for type recommended measures.
