The development of cost-effective and high-performance technologies for wastewater treatment is essential achieving a sustainable economy. Among the various methods available water remediation, adsorption widely recognized as an effective straightforward approach removing range pollutants. Gel materials, particularly hydrogels aerogels, have attracted significant research interest due to their unique properties. Hydrogels, instance, are noted ability be regenerated reused, ease separation handling, suitability large-scale applications. Additionally, low cost, high absorption capacity, contribution environmental protection important advantages. Aerogels, on other hand, distinguished by thermal conductivity, transparency, flexibility, porosity, mechanical strength, light weight, large surface area, ultralow dielectric constant. This review provides comprehensive analysis current literature, highlighting gaps in knowledge regarding classification, preparation, characterization, key properties these materials. potential application aerogels contaminants such dyes, heavy metals, organic inorganic pollutants, also discussed.
