Sham control groups are essential in experimental animal studies to reduce the influence of surgical intervention. The intraluminal filament procedure is one most common models middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) used study brain ischemia. However, a sham group usually not included design these studies. In this study, we aimed evaluate relevance by analyzing and comparing protein profiles MCAO groups. group, 98 dysregulated proteins were detected, compared 171 ischemic group. Moreover, comparative revealed existence pool 57 that appeared be both animals. These results indicated required for (MCA) induces changes expression associated with lesions. This highlights importance including design, ensure intervention does affect therapeutic target under study.

Hypothermia has been widely used to treat moderate severe neonatal hypoxic–ischemic encephalopathy (HIE), yet evaluating the effects of hypothermia relies on clinical neurology, neuroimaging, amplitude-integrated electroencephalography, and follow-up data patient outcomes. Biomarkers brain injury have considered for estimating hypothermia. Proteins specific central nervous system (CNS) are components tissue, once CNS is damaged, these proteins released into biofluids (cerebrospinal fluid, blood, urine, tears, saliva), they can be as markers damage. Clinical reports shown that CNS-specific marker (CNSPs) were early expressed in after damage formed unique biochemical profiles. As a result, may serve an indicator screening infants, monitoring disease progression, identifying region brain, assessing efficacy neuroprotective measures. In work, we found there few using CNSPs biological signals HIE. The aim this article review classification, origin, composition, physiological function with changes their expression levels Hopefully, will improve awareness among pediatricians, encourage future studies exploring mechanisms behind CNSPs, order reduce adverse outcome
