Objective:To identify the transmission methods, symptoms, complications, prevention, and treatment associated with Mpox. Design:Literature review based on a narrative synthesis. Data Sources:Web of Science, Google Scholar, Scielo, ScienceDirect, Redalyc, Scopus. Study Selection:Documents were selected analyzed through critical literature review, considering inclusion exclusion criteria. Results:A was conducted corpus 17 articles, including 11 reviews, 2 systematic 4 statistical analyses. Mpox is more prevalent among children, adults, pregnant women, homosexual bisexual individuals. The regions highest outbreak incidence are Asia, South America, Europe, United States, especially West Central Africa, where it endemic. Mpox (formerly known as monkeypox), an infectious disease caused by the monkeypox virus (MPXV), has been endemic in regions of Central and Western Africa. In 2022, global spread clade IIb MPXV led to a multinational outbreak, primarily affecting sexual transmission networks among men who have sex with men. Despite interventions, new cases continued emerge. Africa, novel strain I MPXV, Ib, prompted Public Health Emergency International Concern designation World Organization August 2024. This article provides updated overview epidemiology, systemic, ocular manifestations, highlighting clinical features, diagnostic testing, implications relevant ophthalmologists eye care providers, including infection prevention control measures. The manifestations mpox involve surface anterior segment, presentations ranging from conjunctivitis severe, vision-threatening keratitis uveitis. While 2022 2024 Clade outbreak shown lower incidence involvement compared previous outbreaks, potential for significant visual morbidity remains. Treatment involves both systemic topical therapies, tecovirimat being primary option, though its efficacy ophthalmic bioavailability remain under investigation. Ongoing surveillance research are essential further understand epidemiology features and, ultimately, optimize treatment strategies patients.
