Transit-oriented development (TOD) serves as a model for sustainable urban planning, integrating land use and transport planning. Successful implementation varies across specific geographic locations has yet to be fully realized in the suburban areas of Thailand. This study empirically examined searched understanding enhanced accessibility activities through TOD concept by focusing on bus stops rail mass transit. The utilized network buffer zone approach around transit measurement units, examining distances 500 m, 1000 2000 m. Spatial analysis was applied examine understand using analysis, Getis-Ord Gi* hotspot bivariate local Moran’s I. results revealed that this area still limited access via public transport, particularly where are concentrated, especially commercial, mixed-use, residential zones. However, upon relationship between distance intensity activities, it became apparent within encircling areas, designated transit-oriented there exists notable concentration diversity activities. Specifically, transportation system corresponded increased activity density. Nonetheless, correlation predominantly observed at stations situated more central whereas located greater exhibited lower zone.

Urbanization and transportation have caused two critical issues in the challenge of sustainable development, particularly, challenges to mobility context car dependency. This is due all aspects environmental, social, economic has been continued influenced by related issues. The suburban areas become aggravating situation massive migrations, thus Pathumthani province, represented as vicinity area Bangkok, Thailand was selected a case study. Data were collected from 1,998 respondents questionnaire survey analyzed using statistical analysis visualization based on geographic information system, GIS application. study results revealed that urbanization process led an increase urban development attracts enormous migrations searching for their opportunities (working education trips). phenomenon positioned serve supportive spillover rapid country's capital which private car-dependent travel public transport network, mainly concentrated with exclusion residents remote areas. On other hand, most sprawl scattered density residential settlements, existing system can no longer rising demand before. findings confirmed current pattern could not promptly meet needs requiring policymakers launch effective plan appropriate demands promote good quality travelling commuters.

Recently, deep learning techniques, specifically semantic segmentation, have been employed to extract visual features from street images, a dimension that has received limited attention in the investigation of connection between subjective and objective road environment perception. This study is dedicated exploring comprehending factors influencing commuters’ perceptions environment, with aim bridging gap interpreting environmental quality Thailand. Semantic segmentation was applied identify objects, expressed as percentage pixels represented 14,812 images Bangkok Metropolitan Region. Subjective perception assessed through questionnaire, total 3600 samples collected. Both sets data were converted average values per grid, grid size 500 × square meters, resulting 631 grids points. Finally, multiple linear regression model analyze relationship ratios objects obtained via human sensory environment. The findings this analysis indicate attributes distinct object classes notable impact on individuals’ Visual elements such infrastructure, construction, nature, vehicles identified influential shaping However, did not exhibit statistical significance regard. Furthermore, when examining different environments, which can be categorized into urban, community, rural contexts, it becomes evident these contexts distinctly affect various environments. Consequently, gaining comprehensive understanding how environments are perceived crucial for design planning neighborhoods urban communities, facilitating creation safer more enjoyable living

Promoting physical activity is a significant concern that contributes to urban development, thereby fostering good health among city residents. This imperative highlights the interconnectedness between public initiatives and advancement of landscapes, reflecting interdisciplinary nature environmental science. Hence, this study aims investigate correlation built environment access activities within distinct local contexts. Utilizing ordinary least squares estimation technique alongside spatial statistical analysis tools can facilitate exploration disparities interdependencies. Results pertaining indicate differences group context at p -value level 0.000. suggests context, various activities, including those related transportation system, differ throughout city. Findings regarding link relatively low R-squared values (0.10–0.20) may be attributed presence grid areas with minimal walking distances. finding underlines key role in promoting activity, highlighting importance for planning design prioritize enhancements active infrastructure increase nodes. achieved by strategically distributing opportunities ensuring accessibility via transit.

A “Learning City” uses its resources to enhance learning opportunities for individuals and communities that promote social cohesion, cultural prosperity economic development. While the UNESCO network of cities provides guidelines measuring prosperity, there have been no studies examining current strengths weaknesses such in Thailand. The purpose this study was identify improvement Thanyaburi district We surveyed 400 residents examine formal informal activities, followed by layering survey data using geographic information systems, determine differences population size, density transportation access. findings show activities differ diversity various geographical locations within according urban centrality scores. most popular were community-based, environmental educational respectively. However, municipalities had few local residents. Promoting lifelong is an essential response establishing a vibrant environment individuals, key driver improving development (e.g., employment education) sustainability.

Ensuring the aging population can access health services is a major challenge for those living in rural areas of Thailand. This study focuses on examining care older adults aged 60 years and Ban Phaeo, Samut Sakhon Province We used spatial analysis to examine roadway networks that connect Phaeo system. Those could were better physical health. Conversely, who not had poorer more difficulties with activities daily living. Geospatial modelling shows was impacted by poor road connectivity conditions, which further exasperate issues are as they cannot receive timely care. lack transportation infrastructure impacts marginalized groups most. Healthy living and well-being at all ages are one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Active mobility is a must as basic choice for healthy individuals communities in sustainable cities. However, commuting by walking presents critical challenge city with rapid urbanization, leading to auto dependency rather than non-motorized mode residents' daily mobility. By employing spatial configurations urban physical elements, interaction between its association active can be unfolded. Bangkok, megacity Thailand, used case study objective assessments generating data from on-street images incorporating it into analysis through geographic information systems (GIS). The finding based on results related pedestrian volume then quantified. linkage environment—both sidewalks their surrounding context—can demonstrate significance term relationship. The expansion of cities and land use changes have led to the emergence peri-urban areas representing a transition between fully urbanized agricultural regions in Southeast Asia. Peri-urban communities provide essential ecosystem services but are vulnerable climate-related disruptions socioeconomic challenges. Utilizing their unique characteristics, can contribute sustainable development resilience. This study assesses potential meet future challenges for changing world, focusing on local pandan farming community Pathum Thani, approximately 53 km north Bangkok, using Community-Based Resilience Analysis (CoBRA) approach. A formally established group households identified COVID-19, water quality, solid waste as primary disruptive economic stability resources (land ownership, financial security, government support), social support (collaborative community, healthcare facilities), an environmental dimension (sufficient food clean water), information (news knowledge update) key resilience which highlight comprehensive approach hazard concludes that was moderately resilient hazards COVID-19 disrupting event over past 10 years. To address agriculture, it is suggested focus enhancing diversification, strengthening networks systems, implementing management practices, promoting access timely accurate information. Additionally, investing infrastructure recycling, supporting small-scale initiatives, fostering collaboration farmers authorities building communities.

This paper undertakes an analysis and provides strategic design recommendations to urbanise Liverpool City Centre, Sydney; by proposing the conversion of existing fragmented car oriented space into one that is inclusive, pedestrian orientated public domain. Those include problems with monopolisation lack facilities for pedestrians cyclists, "Rethinking Streets" project noted. The Complete Street designs streets all users, four modes transportation accommodated in same right-of-way. In theory, measures like extending sphere, facilitating linear bike connections updating streetscape elements as well parking removal ease through-traffic could be considered. These enhancements aim promote a healthier environment, improve connectivity among major attractions, support economic growth, aligning Liverpool's vision regional hub Sydney's Metropolitan Plan.
