The imperative to establish environmentally friendly and sustainable food processing techniques has compelled the industry explore alternative approaches that uphold quality, ensure nutritional integrity, minimize energy consumption. Extensive research conducted in past decade substantiated superiority of membrane-based dewatering technology over conventional methods, owing its ability retain nutrients effectively while minimizing requirements. Notably, forward osmosis (FO) membrane distillation (MD) have emerged as viable technologies for industry. However, recent reviews underscored prominence FO enrichment liquid food, positioning it a preferred choice among other processes. This review paper aims elucidate advancements contributions MD realm evaluating their maturity readiness level concentration.
