The discharge of untreated wastewater from unplanned industrial activities using dyes can cause serious environmental pollution and affect the aquatic environment. Semiconductor photocatalysis is a favorable technology widely used for degrading organic in wastewater. This study dealt with preparation CeO2 nanoparticles via simple precipitation technique. Information on structural morphological features developed were determined Fourier transform infrared attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR), Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) spectroscopic methods. presence characteristic bands FTIR spectrum provided evidence successful formation. calculated crystallite particle size utilizing Scherrer equation was 10 nm. SEM images revealed that morphology consisted almost spherical particles slight agglomeration. Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) technique also to find out specific surface area (11 m2/g). efficiency confirmed terms their photocatalytic activity against Rhodamine B (Rh B) under UV-A light. results indicated could be promising catalyst candidate treatment.
