In this paper, BiVO4/CeVO4 composites were synthesized by hydrothermal method for photodegradation of norfloxacin (NFX) under visible light irradiation. The structure, morphologies, and optical properties as-prepared samples studied with XRD, SEM, BET, DRS, PL, XPS, EIS, TPR. results the photocatalytic experiments demonstrated that had more degradation performance NFX compared pure BiVO4 or CeVO4, which was attributed to increased absorbance intensity light, reduced carrier coincidence rate, improved charge separation efficiency. Furthermore, possible mechanism on irradiation proposed according activity free radicals trapping experiments.

Abstract Bismuth vanadate has been reported as a promising active semiconductor for visible light harvesting. However, the rapid recombination of charge carriers limited its photocatalytic properties. As an alternative route to treat contaminated water containing cyanide ions, photoactivated BiVO 4 in combination with ozone investigated. photocatalysts were synthesized by microwave-assisted hydrothermal method, well sol–gel, obtaining monoclinic crystalline structure and band gap ~ 2.5 eV XRD UV–Vis DRS. The morphological analysis, elemental chemical composition, BET surface area, stability, photoluminescence characteristics carried out both samples. Although majority composition belongs , presence secondary phases was confirmed XPS. obtained sol–gel (sol–gel BVO) exhibited superior performance lower reaction time (15 min) oxidize free under visible-light radiation ozone. degradation kinetics is described pseudo-zero-order kinetics, rate constant (k 0 ) method found be two. high efficiency ozonation removal can ascribed two oxidation systems synergy processes.
