The failure of water pipes in Water Distribution Networks (WDNs) is associated with environmental, economic, and social consequences. It essential to mitigate these failures by analyzing the historical data WDNs. extant literature regarding pipe analysis limited absence a systematic selection significant factors influencing eliminating bias frequency distribution data. Hence, this study presents new framework address existing limitations. consists two algorithms for categorical numerical failure. are employed check relevance between pipe's distributions order select most factors. applied Hong Kong WDN, selecting 10 out 21 as likelihood feature method Bayes' theorem estimate probability due materials results indicate that galvanized iron polyethylene susceptible WDN. proposed enables decision-makers infrastructure industry effectively prioritize their networks' allocate resources accordingly.

ABSTRACT The presence of numerous distributed power sources in distribution grids leads to a diverse array controlled object points and significant uncertainties, thereby posing series challenges the control operation grids. Hence, this study proposes virtual cluster partitioning model for active networks using quantum particle swarm optimization (QPSO) algorithm sector search, aiming achieve autonomy within clusters coordination between clusters. First, article search that transforms topological connections network into mathematical expressions. This simplifies node locations improves algorithm's convergence speed. Building upon traditional (PSO) algorithm, introduces wave function Schrödinger equation enhance performance. By treating vectors obtained from searches as particles, proposed QPSO significantly both efficiency global solving model. Finally, case studies conducted on modified PG&E 69‐node system demonstrated method's advantages. method improved computational efficiency, with supply rate over 0.6 modularity above 0.7, ensuring balanced partitioning. scalability effectiveness were validated an 85‐node system, achieving high operational adaptability.
