Oily wastewater pollution is increasing globally. Conventional treatment methods often fail due to inefficiency and secondary contamination. Therefore, developing advanced membrane separation technologies crucial. While technology holds promise as a solution, its widespread applicability necessitates overcoming significant obstacles related corrosion resistance, alkali the prevention of fouling. This study presents novel highly efficient approach for oil-water separation, employing bioinspired, nanoporous metal-organic framework-modified basalt fiber fabrics (BFF). The integration UiO-66-NH2, renowned high porosity tunable functionalities, with chitosan-dopamine (CS-DA) layer on BFFs creates multifunctional enhanced hydrophilicity underwater superoleophobicity. bioinspired design (refers engineering solutions that mimic natural structures or mechanisms improve performance efficiency), drawing inspiration from structure function materials, results in superior performance, demonstrating excellent flux oil rejection rates. UiO-66-NH2 effectively captures droplets porosity, while CS-DA facilitates water permeability promotes surface stability. Furthermore, composite exhibits exceptional stability reusability, positioning it promising candidate sustainable applications. research showcases potential principles innovative pressing environmental challenges.
