Activated carbon fibers (ACFs) demonstrate exceptional performance across a range of applications, including environmental remediation and energy storage. However, significant challenges, such as high production costs low yield, hinder their widespread adoption. In light the substantial global generation inefficient recycling textile waste, this study aimed to enhance resource valorization promote sustainability through conversion waste textiles into activated (W-ACFs). The research successfully synthesized W-ACFs, which exhibit physical chemical properties comparable those commercial (C-ACFs). When applied adsorption removal lead ions in water, W-ACFs showed similar ion efficiency C-ACFs at concentrations. Although capacity reached approximately 70% (adsorption nearly 62 mg g −1 ) that initial concentrations, it nonetheless exhibited application potential. were further enhanced by optimizing key preparation parameters, pre-oxidation temperature, carbonization activation dosage activating agents. This not only provides an effective adsorbent material for water treatment but also introduces novel approach remediation, thereby achieving dual objectives economic protection.
