Photocatalysis is one of the best possible ways to alleviate energy and environmental issues. The use effective photocatalysts has drawn increased attention in wastewater treatment during last few decades. Herein, a novel ternary photocatalyst, Fe3O4/HAp@Zn nanocomposites was synthesized using hydrothermal method followed by ultrasonication. synthetic process involved decoration Zn2+ onto heterojunction Fe3O4 with HAp matrix. Structural, optical, morphological properties materials were investigated PXRD, FT-IR, UV-DRS, XPS, FEG-SEM, SEM-EDS, HR-TEM techniques. This newly developed nanocomposite demonstrates outstanding photocatalytic efficiency degrading harmful pharmaceutical contaminants like ciprofloxacin when exposed natural sunlight. Compared Fe3O4, pure HAp, Fe3O4/HAp, composite exhibited superior performance for degradation. Additionally, study explored how various factors, including initial antibiotic concentration, amount catalyst used, affect rate at which photocatalysis occurs. also shown be terms stability recyclability. Based on quenching experiments, plausible mechanism degradation explained. Such new methods treating pharmaceutically polluted utilizing solid-state catalysts are substantiated key avenues growth future.
