Abstract Sea cucumbers, members of the echinoderm class Holothuroidea, are marine invertebrates with ecological significance and substantial commercial value. With approximately 1700 species, these organisms contribute to ecosystems through nutrient cycling face various threats, including overfishing habitat loss. Despite their importance, they extensively exploited for diverse applications, from seafood pharmaceuticals. This study investigates sea cucumbers' nutritional profile bioactive elements, emphasizing role as sources essential compounds potential health benefits. The demand especially in dried form, is significant, prompting exploration into drying techniques. Examining global trade cucumbers highlights economic importance conservation challenges face. Phedimus aizoon has been utilized as a medicinal plant in Asia. However, the production of phytochemical-rich extracts from P. and evaluation their bioactivity are limited. Herein, were prepared by ultrasound-assisted extraction aizoon, with high yield 16.56%. The contained about 126 mg phenolics 31 flavonoids per g extracts. chromatographic analysis (GC-MS HPLC analyses) identified 19 notable phytochemicals including pentacosane, hexadecanoic acid, gallic vanillic quercetin. acid content was relatively at 2.75 mg/g. compounds known to have various bioactivities, such antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal activities. In fact, exhibited antioxidant activity 24–28% that ascorbic acid. addition, it showed antibacterial against both Escherichia coli (Gram-negative bacteria) Staphylococcus aureus (Gram-positive bacteria). This study highlights deserves attention natural bioactive substance emphasizes need for applications aizoon.

Schistosomiasis is a prevalent epidemic disease in Egypt. As result of the exclusive use praziquantel (PZQ) treatment schistosomiasis, parasite may become resistant to medication. Accordingly, there has been growing interest research with aim developing novel antischistosomal medicines from natural sources. The marine Hyrtios sponge exhibits bioactive compounds, qualifying it explore drugs. Hence, current study aimed assess vitro activity extract (HSE) against schistosomiasis through detection mortality and tegumental alterations S. mansoni adult worms. rates worms exceeded 50% after 2 3 hours exposure concentration 200µg/ ml HSE. After 24 hours, surpassed at concentrations both 100 ml. Teripang (Holothuria sp.) hidup di perairan Indonesia dan tersebar luas daerah Perairan Papua. diperdagangkan diekspor dalam bentuk kering untuk dikonsumsi karena dipercaya mengandung senyawa bioaktif yang memberikan dampak positif bagi kesehatan. Proses pengolahan dapat memengaruhi karakteristik kimia potensi bioaktivitas pada suatu bahan pangan. Informasi mengenai pengaruh teripang dari Papua Barat terhadap aktivitas antioksidannya belum dilaporkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menentukan antioksidan segar olahannya secara tradisional. Sampel disiapkan dengan membuang isi perutnya. rebus diolah merebus air laut selama 15 menit. asap diperoleh nelayan merupakan telah direbus 1,5-2 jam, diasap 8 dikeringkan bawah sinar matahari jam. Hasil identifikasi spesies menunjukkan bahwa adalah Holothuria atra, sementara sulit diidentifikasi spesifik. kadar 10-84%, protein 47-55%, lemak 3-4%, abu 27-35%. Kadar air, protein, mengalami penurunan setelah diberi perlakuan perebusan pengasapan; sedangkan peningkatan. analisis metode DPPH memiliki nilai IC50 189,3 mg/L, 58,36 49,28 mg/L. mampu meningkatkan antioksidan.

In this study, the detailed phytochemical composition of two medicinal plants was investigated and their importance in silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) synthesis highlighted. Aqueous extracts from leaves both were used for various analytical techniques, including UV-vis spectroscopy, Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) Thin layer chromatography (TLC). Quantification total phenolics flavonoids different fractions plant revealed significant concentrations. TLC profiling showed a higher abundance free phenolic flavonoid compounds compared to bound forms plants, suggesting that they contribute significantly content. spectra 200 600 nm presence aromatic rings chromophores leaf extracts. Furthermore, GC-MS analysis identified several bioactive compounds, some which found be common between these species. This study aimed to isolate Streptomyces sp. from Moroccan terrestrial ecosystems and identify bioactive compounds through GC-MS analysis. Antimicrobial activity was assessed against various pathogenic microorganisms including Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923, Pseudomonas aeruginosa 27853, Escherichia coli 25922 Candida albicans 60193, multi-drug resistant strains comprising Listeria monocytogenes, Klebsiella pneumoniae 19K 929, Proteus 19K1313, 20B1572, vulgaris 16C1737, 20B1572. Based on the results of gene sequencing 16S rRNA phylogenetic analysis, E2 belongs genus with highest degree resemblance (97.51%) africanus strain NBRC 101005 (NR_112600.1). The exhibited broad-spectrum antibacterial activity, maximum efficacy 20B1572 indicated by an inhibition zone diameter 22.5 ± 0.71mm a minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) 0.0625 mg/mL. in vitro antioxidant potential determined screening its ethyl acetate extract sets assays. were indicative displaying strong ABTS, DPPH free radicals, FRAP. Furthermore, there high significant correlation (p < 0.0001) between total phenolic flavonoid content activities. analysis identified six volatile compounds, Eugenol (96%) Maltol (93%) being most prominent. Additionally, HPLC-UV/vis revealed compounds: gallic acid, chlorogenic vanillic trans-ferulic ellagic cinnamic acid. Overall, highlights as source potent antimicrobial metabolites, offering promise addressing antibiotic resistance oxidative stress-related conditions.
