Urban green spaces are essential for promoting public health by encouraging physical activity, reducing stress, and enhancing overall well-being. However, the perception utilization of these vary based on socio-demographic factors urban planning characteristics. This study investigates their perceived benefits, emphasizing psychological, physical, social impacts. The involved 240 respondents who assessed availability quality as well psychological aspects use. survey was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). results showed that environmental awareness (β = 0.404, p < 0.001) interaction 0.391, significant predictors frequency visiting spaces, while do not have a impact. These findings highlight critical role education community initiatives in maximizing benefits derived from spaces. Frequency use is positively associated with both mental 0.272, 0.002) 0.409, 0.001). Surprisingly, demonstrates negative impact −0.166, 0.002), which requires further study. obtained need an integrated approach to studying relationship between environment population health.

Abstract Green spaces are vital for the urban ecosystem, providing residents with diverse ecosystem services. However, heterogeneity in spatial locations and landscape configurations, caused variousness of services quality green spaces. Previous studies mainly examined equity based on quantitative factors like distance scale. service space remains unclear. We studied 226 park spaces(UPGS) Hangzhou constructed Ecosystem Service Quality Index (ESQI) to evaluate regional analyze driving by Gini coefficient Lorenz curve. Results showed that (1) 77.43% parks had moderately low ESQIs (0.100–0.230), spatially heterogeneous distribution. (2) There was a high degree unfairness regarding area, number points interest facilities, proportion water bodies, effective grid patches, total edge length. (3) Heterogeneity distribution internal patterns UPGSs significant quality. (4) The main influencing consisted natural factors(green cover impervious cove) location factors(Park Cooling Index). characteristics cannot reflect level Urban ecological construction should not simply focus increasing quantity, rather it is more crucial improve UPGS.

Distance decay of urban park visitation (e.g., number and frequency) has been widely acknowledged is increasingly integrated into planning management considering spatial accessibility service equity. However, thorough understandings especially concerning the variations among visitors with different personal characteristics patterns are still scarce. Taking Changsha, China as an example, we collected data on distance (i.e., between parks visitor’s homes) frequency 2535 visitors, modeled density frequency, investigated their patterns. The results show that: (1) median was 1.3 km 24 times per season. (2) Both showed clear can be effectively using common functions power function, exponential logarithmic function). (3) Visitors’ gender age) duration time, transportation modes, purposes) significantly impact distance, rate decay). These findings extend our understanding which help better management.

Rooftop greening stands as a distinctive approach to delivering green space without occupying ground-level areas. The spatial configuration of rooftop greenery and its socioeconomic associations are critical for sustainable urban development environmental justice. However, historical research trends have predominantly concentrated on open, environments, neglecting the vertical manifestation greenery. Investigations into roofs typically been circumscribed their benefits, while little attention has paid distribution drivers behind it. This study aims fill gap by implementing multiscale mapping with satellite imagery quantify greenness in Hong Kong. An integrated analysis incorporating geographic demographic data reveals correlation between factors such income levels, housing types, residential area sizes, household compositions. association exhibits pronounced inequality, where lower-income individuals, solitary residents, households smaller living spaces densely populated aged neighborhoods deprived spaces, contrast counterparts more affluent neighborhoods. Government-subsidized public initiatives significantly contributed enhancing environment low-income families. Buildings administered government demonstrated exceptional performance efforts. evidence provides nuanced insights advantages deficiencies roof planning Kong could serve reference other urbanized cities working towards equitable environment.
