Balancing supply and demand in Nature-based Recreation (NbR) has the potential to yield co-benefits across multiple Ecosystem Services (ES), helping make tourism activities more sustainable. However, a comprehensive understanding of supply-demand mismatches NbR is challenging due complex interaction among various social, economic ecological factors. This paper investigates provide insights for informing spatial regional planning achieve sustainable tourism. To this end, uses wide range indicators such as biophysical attributes, accessibility social map assess demand, followed by application statistics analyse mismatches. Cluster analysis was performed based on relationship identify typology ES study area north Iran. The proposes an innovative recreation bundles with implications region marked hot spot generated five differing recreational opportunities. Bundles 1 2, characterized surplus substantial value, are suitable camping, hiking, climbing, birdwatching. In contrast, bundle 4 5 associated urban centres, experience deficit, making them less NbR. Bundle 3, mixture natural productive lands, plays important role maintaining balanced state. holds diverse forms tourism, including rural agricultural farm tours life experiences. Based findings, provides valuable proposing targeted strategies sustainably manage activities.

Suburban rural ecosystem, especially those adjacent to large cities, constitute a key component of and urban sustainability resilience. However, urbanisation often exerts negative impact on suburban landscapes, leading ecological degradation. Despite making significant contribution multiple ecosystem services (ESs), landscapes do not receive commensurate attention compared themes, particularly smaller scale. We explored drivers land use dynamics in the area Jiangning, Nanjing, China, via quantitative statistical mapping approach, utilising multi-source geospatial data from 2005 2018 relevant socio-economic that would enable quantification four services. Landscape functional zones characterised by ESs bundles were also identified, their association with surrounding landscape attributes was statistically analysed. Our results highlighted urbanisation-induced population growth as macro-context driving development Jiangning. The analysis yielded five distinct (LFZs) displayed synergistic relationships between ESs, namely, carbon storage soil retention, n-output water yield. Furthermore, these linked LFZs environmental spatial characteristics created detailed elements for each zone, thereby emphasising need more comprehensive planning designing transition zones. thus able imply zoning attributes-based designs may optimise benefits. This study provides systematic method integrate zones, into whole process management planning. It aims promote sustainable multifunctionality areas providing spatial-level indicators element-level design strategies LFZ, revitalising countryside perspective architecture.

Socio-cultural dimensions and values in maritime spatial planning (MSP) are gaining momentum worldwide especially the European Union (EU), since it is acknowledged that they “missing layer” of plans (MSPlans). These partly explored through cultural ecosystem services (CES). Coastal marine CES refer to benefits humans derive from coastal environments recreational, artistic, spiritual, educational terms. They reflect ways which ecosystems contribute human well-being, identity, interactions with nature. The research question how map assess coastal/marine integrate them MSPlans. Thus, this systematic review sheds light on methodological technical issues mapping assessment provides guidance incorporate MSP for future research. Publications dealing aspects were examined an extra focus participatory approaches. Initially, 199 articles identified, 50 ultimately eligible analysis. Papers concentrated Atlantic, whilst their scope was either local or regional. A large number consider contribution efficient management rather than achieving integrated coordinated MSP. Social mixed approaches met most often, Also, non-monetary valuation prevailing, a multitude techniques, tools, statistical software used. In cases, distribution relation environmental, socio-economic, demographic factors examined. This article concludes effective integration into crucial creating prospects more sustainable inclusive approach well-being communities both currently generations. knowledge should become “property” planners.

National parks not only protect natural resources but also provide a variety of cultural ecosystem services, with their rural areas serving as important locations for providing recreation services (RRS). Spatial quantification RRS supply and demand will contribute to ensuring the protection promotion human well-being in national parks. In this study, we proposed an integrated framework map assess spatial distribution Changhong Township, located within Qianjiangyuan Park. We used combination analysis MaxEnt model tools, which played positive role saving time when modeling services. Based on findings, study area was divided into different zones propose planning measures. The results showed that (1) robust mapping supply. had high heterogeneity. The development of ecotourism in protected areas faces the challenge balancing conservation and ecotourism. Ecotourism suitability assessments are essential tools for managing tourism these areas.
