Eco-spatial indices are commonly used tools to improve the quality of environment in cities. Initially modelled on Berlin BAF, have evolved address current challenges, particularly climate change adaptation. The Ratio Biologically Vital Areas (RBVA), introduced Poland mid-1990s, is an early planning tool for implementing Nature-based Solutions (NbSs) at site level. This research aimed assess effectiveness RBVA compared its counterparts Oslo and Malmö. study employed a serious simulation game developed under Norwegian-funded CoAdapt project, testing six development scenarios, varied terms applied NbSs, typical multi-family housing estate. adaptive potential tested scenarios was assessed based values five environmental parameters calculated game; that is, air temperature, oxygen production, CO2 sequestration, rainwater harvesting, biodiversity. findings revealed RBVA, form, has limited supporting Its two-dimensional nature makes it less effective than more comprehensive Green Factors presented article proves better-constructed result efficiency NbSs consequently better adaptation change.
