Climate change-induced alterations in temperature variation, ozone exposure, water salinity and acidification, hypoxia might influence immunity diverse animal groups from fish to mammals. Pyroptosis is a type of lytic pro-inflammatory programmed cell death, which participates the innate immune response, involved multiple diseases characterized by inflammation mostly studied human cells. Here, I review previous research pointing potential impact climate change on pyroptotic death different propose that temperature-, exposure-, salinity-, acidification- hypoxia-induced should be better understood able mitigate adverse effects physiology. This high importance considering increasing frequency climate-based changes these environmental parameters, critical function pyroptosis responses animals.
