The equine lipid metabolism is activated during and after endurance exercise to provide energy in response the metabolic physiological changes body caused by prolonged exercise; however, specific regulatory mechanisms remain controversial identifying differential metabolites associated with essential elucidate these mechanisms. In this study, blood samples for metabolomic analysis biochemical indices were collected before a 26 km race from 12 Yili horses different performance. results showed that: albumin (ALB) level was significantly higher general group than excellent competition, but lower ordinary competition ( p < 0.05); pre-competition alanine aminotransferase (ALT) that of urea nitrogen (BUN) 0.05). total 1,537 obtained, mainly enriched pathways fatty acid biosynthesis, cortisol synthesis secretion, bile aldosterone regulation sodium reabsorption, biotin metabolism, steroid hormone neuroactive ligand-receptor interactions. Metabolomics correlation analyses screened PC (18:3/18:4) PI (18:1/18:2) as potential biomarkers identify performance horses. study solid foundation improving racing selection breeding providing comprehensive reference on endurance.
