Environmental, social and governance (ESG) practices have become a crucial pathway for the sustainable development of enterprises, so shipping enterprises. Based on unbalanced panel data China’s A-share listed enterprises from 2009 to 2022, this study uses multiple regression model empirically test impact ESG performance carbon emission reduction its regional heterogeneity. The findings indicate that significantly reduces intensity conclusion remains robust across various robustness tests endogenetic analyses. Further heterogeneity analysis reveals effect is more pronounced in southern region. These results underscore importance strengthening capabilities as key strategy promoting low-carbon transition achieving development.

Air pollution caused by shipping-related activities has adversely affected public health and environmental quality in port cities. However, applying digital technologies offers new pathways to mitigate such pollution. Based on panel data from 52 coastal cities China 2016 2020, this study employs a two-way fixed effects model analyze the impact of economy PM 2.5 Additionally, threshold is used examine effect size relationship between Heterogeneity analysis further conducted two dimensions—vessel types components—to explore variations economy’s emission reduction effects. This study provides a bibliometric review of 238 studies on the concept green shipping corridors in maritime industry, published 93 academic outlets and authored by 654 scholars. Bibliographical data were extracted from Web Science database analyzed using bibliometrix package R software (version 4.3.3) alongside VOSviewer 1.6.20). Based citation analysis metrics, most influential articles, journals, authors, institutions, countries within field identified. Utilizing bibliographic coupling methodology VOSviewer, following four underlying research clusters distinguished: (1) Sustainable Green Shipping Practices Research, (2) Alternative Fuels Low-Carbon Strategies for Maritime Transport, (3) Development, (4) Environmental Sustainability Shipping. Content results highlighted crucial policy recommendations, technological adaptation strategies, collaborative stakeholder practices, providing robust insights academia industry practitioners seeking strategic guidance effective decarbonization via integrated corridor initiatives.
