ABSTRACT Ex vivo characterization of sarcoma and carcinoma tissue samples was evaluated using microscopy, optical polarimetry, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, support vector machines (SVM). Recent evidence suggests that it is crucial to explore new diagnostic methods for detecting the smallest features cancer. In this paper, we discuss FTIR, which characterizes chemical composition tissues at different wavenumbers. The FTIR spectra exhibited significant differences in (OH, CH, NH) compared (NH, CO CH), particularly spectral range from 400 4000 cm −1 . Mueller matrix polarimetry (MMP) combined with polar decomposition used compare 13 polarimetric parameters ex across visible spectrum (400–800 nm), revealing significantly higher values all metrics samples. Microscopic analysis revealed distinctive morphological changes associated carcinoma, contributing these variations. All explored SVM demonstrated promise computer‐assisted classification two types. successfully achieved an overall 90% accuracy, sensitivity, specificity. These results suggest combination along SVM, holds potential automated pathology carcinoma.
